Tackling Homelessness in the Harrogate District

At Harrogate Homeless Project we believe that nobody should have to sleep rough and it is our aim to engage with everyone to find their journey out of homelessness.

Hostel

We run a hostel on Bower Street which is a safe place for 16 residents to stay while we work together to identify goals and provide support to reach those goals. The hostel also has a dedicated area offering emergency accommodation for rough sleepers. The average occupancy for the Hostel each year is over 95% and the average length of stay is currently 80 nights. Our aim is for residents to move on to independent living which may be to one of our own move on houses or other local accommodation, which we help to organise. We continue to offer support when residents leave the hostel and to liaise with other agencies to ensure the best possible outcome.

Springboard Day Centre

Our Springboard day centre in Harrogate town centre provides meals, shower facilities, laundry, clothing, GP services, therapies, skills training, advice and practical support for any one who is currently experiencing homelessness or in need of support around their housing situation. We are fundraising to expand this important area of our work, which is often our first point of contact with someone who comes to us for help and support.

How To Donate

We rely heavily on donations to keep our services running. We are in particular need of regular funding from individuals and businesses to help us expand our day centre to offer wider health, wellbeing and skills training services.
