There are many volunteering opportunities at the Harrogate Homeless Project, for example:
Night Hostel
The night hostel always runs with a minimum of two people on duty. You would work alongside a staff member or experienced volunteer:
Helping to run the night hostel in an evening (7pm-10pm)
Sleeping in the hostel on the overnight shift (10pm - 9am the following day)
Drop-In
The Project runs a drop-in session, 5 days per week (between 11.00am - 1.30pm). Duties would include making tea/coffee and light refreshments for clients; lending a friendly ear to those using the service; supervising use of laundry facilites. If you are able to spare some time any weekday to help with the Drop-in, please get in touch - even if you are only available for part of the shift, we would still like to hear from you!
Fundraising
If you have some spare time we would be grateful for help with fundraising and awareness raising.
Treasurer
We are looking for a new Treasurer to replace our outgoing Treasurer. For more information on this role, please get in touch.
All volunteering opportunities at Harrogate Homeless Project are flexible - there is no minimum number of shifts per month to undertake. Volunteers offer as much (or as little) time as they wish!
Volunteers of all ages help the homeless by helping Harrogate Homeless Project - whether you are a student or return-to-worker who would like to build your CV with some community work, or whether you are retired/semi-retired and looking for meaningful occupation, we have opportunities for you!
Please contact Becky at the Project on (01423) 566900 for an informal chat on how you can help support the Project.
Without volunteers the Project could not operate!
