Life Scout Supports Homeless

Joey Pennock, a Life Scout with Menwith Hill’s Boy Scouts of America Troop 179, carried out his Eagle Scout Service Project, and chose Harrogate Homeless Project as his beneficiary.

Joey has spent the last 3-4 months working with his fellow Scouts on his project, collecting food items and cleaning supplies to donate to the Hostel/Springboard.

Joey organised a donation drive where Menwith Hill Good Samaritans donated items into a box at the commissary and he also spent some time at Morrisons in Ripon collecting items donated by members of the local community.

We were overwhelmed with the generosity shown by all those who were involvedJoey’s donations have helped both the Hostel and Springboard and will enable us to provide our residents and clients with the best service possible.

Everyone at Harrogate Homeless Project would like to pass on a huge thank you to Joey (and his wonderful parents), the Menwith Hill Boy Scouts of America Troop, and all the kind members of the public who helped make Joey’s project the huge success that it was
