Commercial Property Specialist Gent Visick have joined forces with Harrogate Homeless Project for the 2018 / 2019 financial year, in an effort to raise awareness and essential funds towards Springboard, their day centre in Harrogate Town Centre.
Harrogate Homeless Project, an independent charity, provides the only direct access homeless hostel in the Harrogate District and their key aim is not to just provide for the homeless but actually get people off the streets and into permanent accommodation as well as employment.
Harrogate Homeless Project runs a 24 hour, 7 day a week, 16 bedroom hostel including the emergency rough sleeper scheme, on the fringe of Harrogate Town Centre.
Springboard is a separate day centre in Harrogate Town Centre and provides food, shower facilities, clothing and support workers.
Over the last year Harrogate Homeless Project received over 200 referrals, with all referrals supported off the street and into shelter.
Springboard’s fundraising target is £50,000 to further develop their day centre and Gent Visick aim to contribute towards this.
Gent Visick will be doing a range of activities throughout the forthcoming financial year with the first event being the Jane Tomlinson 10K run in Leeds on Sunday 8th July. They hope fellow property professionals and clients will join them on the day.
The company has set up a fundraising page where supporters can donate towards their target for Harrogate Homeless Project https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gentvisick
Liz Hancock, Chief Executive of the Harrogate Homeless Project said “We are thrilled that Gent Visick has chosen to support us this year, as without such support we could not continue developing our vital frontline services to homeless and vulnerable people in our District. We are looking forward to working with Gent Visick to raise vital funds to develop our day service offering”.
Paul Mack, Director at Gent Visick said “Harrogate Homeless Project does incredible work providing for so many vulnerable people. Their emphasis is to provide a pathway to ensure that when someone hits rock bottom, they are there to pick up pieces.
So many people assume Harrogate, being an affluent town, doesn’t have an issue with homelessness. Well sadly this isn’t the case and Gent Visick are delighted to help and support an organisation who are changing people’s lives.”
