We are extremely lucky here in Harrogate to have the support of so many local food retailers who donate surplus food from their stores on a regular basis.
Amongst those who donate to us on a regular basis are Marks and Spencer Harrogate, Fodder at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Heck Sausages, Sainsburys, Tesco and Greggs.
We are also generously supported by a number of smaller independent cafes and restaurants on an occasional or regular basis. We are particularly grateful to Hayden and Ruth (pictured) at Bean and Bud on Commercial Street who give us their leftover sandwiches every night. They’re a great local business with a real sense of community – and they do wonderful coffee too!
Thanks also to all the individuals and groups who drop off leftovers after events they have held – your generosity is extremely welcome.
People often ask us what we need most. We would say that non-perishable goods such as tinned foods are always in need, particularly those that can be used to make a meal. This could include tinned meat, stew and vegetables.
